Well, Bale most likely lied to them about his methods of weight loss. He’s admitted all he ate every day for 6 months was a small can of tuna and an apple. Sometimes he would skip one of the two items and have a whiskey to further dehydrate himself. He recently described the mental effects of that physical condition in a GQ interview. It seems he enjoyed it; found it calming. His physical adaptions are more impressive considering at his self-proclaimed fittest (Am.Psycho), he was a vegetarian.
